I can own my effort.
Not every attempt deserves applause. But the act of learning, revising and making things is something I can stand behind.
ONE DAY, I MIGHT SAY...
Entirely unfinished.
01:00 AM*
“It all happened overnight.”
“The night was 35 years long.”
It rarely sees the rehearsal.
The discarded drafts. The odd detours. The skills learned badly before they were learned well. The ordinary days where showing up was the whole plot.
None of that guarantees a spectacular ending.
But it still happened.
“And then, suddenly, everything seemed to appear.”
WHAT AN OUTSIDE OBSERVER MIGHT SEENot every attempt deserves applause. But the act of learning, revising and making things is something I can stand behind.
Timing, help, technology, opportunity and luck all matter. Pride in the effort does not require pretending I did everything alone.
“Almost famous” is the joke. The projects are real. The future is unwritten. I'm enjoying making things before anyone decides what to call them.
A LITTLE IMPRESSION IS PERMITTED.
Both may be true. That is precisely why a life makes for a better story than a slogan.
Not a résumé of imagined victories. Just a few real places where the thinking and making are visible.
